Imagineers Bring Full 3D Audio-Animatronics to Life at Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

I am super excited about the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train attraction! I think Walt would be really proud of how new technology and innovation is joining forces with his original creativity. Back in the late 30s and 40s “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” was a sensation and I think this attraction will be a reminder of how truly incredible the film is, not only as a story, but as a milestone in animation and entertainment history.

Andy’s Dad..

There have been many pixar theories going around the internet lately and one of my favorites is the truth about Andy’s mom. I was reading Jon Negroni’s theory and  watching videos, including the SuperCalrinBrothers interpretation of the theory on YouTube, and Woody supposedly once belonged to Andy’s Dad. This raised the question of the whereabouts of Andy’s dad. Did he pass away, did he leave, did his parents get a divorce? No one can truly know the answer to question, however, we can speculate based on  the information Andy gives.

In Toy Story 3 we can see how much Andy really does care about Woody, which reinforces the fact that Woody is Andy’s favorite toy. The connection between Andy and Woody though goes much deeper. Andy gives a heart felt description of Woody when he gives him to Bonnie. “Now Woody, he’s been my pal for as long as I can remember. He’s brave, like a cowboy should be, and kind, and smart, but the thing that makes Woody special is that he’ll never give up on you, ever, he’ll be there for you, no matter what. You think you can take care of him for me?”

This statement can have multiple meanings. For starters, if Andy’s dad passed away then Woody is a sentimental figure and is a extension of his dad, i.e. someone who was brave, kind, and smart. On the other hand, if Andy’s dad left on a sour note then Woody would represent the farther figure Andy never had in his life because his dad may have given up on him or was not there for him. We can see that throughout the Toy Story trilogy Woody was constantly separated from Andy and always found a way back to him. Woody most likely knows that he was passed down from father to son and either does not want to leave him and disappoint him as his dad would have if he left or Woody doesn’t want Andy to loose him like he lost his dad if he died. Woody does take on a fatherly role withing the group of toys; he is the leader of the group, who protects everyone, and has everyone’s best interest at heart.

What ever the case may be it is evident that the connection between Woody and Andy is much deeper than a typical toy to owner relationship. Based on the other theories, Woody was most likely a family toy that once belonged to Andy’s dad. In Andy’s eyes Woody is the father figure in his life who is brave, kind, smart, and always there for him.
